Turning the Page
Twenty nine stalwart souls gathered in my condo on new year's eve to turn the page to a new chapter in their luminous lives.
We shared the struggles and sorrows, along with the breakthroughs and triumphs, that befell us during the year coming to a close, and our aspirations and hopes for the new year. We sighed deeply, ate heartily, sang spontaneously and laughed naturally.
The next morning, I preached at my home church, the Community Church of Honolulu on "Pursuing Your Dreams." Then yesterday, attended the sitting of the Broken Ridge Meditation Group. Gregory Pai led us in a guided meditation aimed at visualizing our life's goals and purpose.
These three events, enriched by daily morning swims at Ala Moana, were a wonderful way to begin the early pages of my life's journey in 2017.
Share with us how yours unfolded.
Our next gathering will be in April. Sister Bitrina, who led us again in Keolaniau, a meditative exercise to release one's inner energy and promote alertness and calmness, hinted of the possibility of it taking place at the Maryknoll Sisters' Lanikai home. Keep your fingers crossed. Will keep you posted.
May 2017 be a year of amazing awakenings for all of us!
